Research shows smiling makes you happier
admin | August 23, 2009A public experiment with 26,000 people has shown that smiling, being grateful and appreciating what you have, and relieving happy memories will you happier.
The Science of Happiness study said thinking of a positive thing that had happened in the recent past was by far the most effective way for people to cheer themselves up.
These findings match the wide ranging evidence presented on the Oxford Healing Centre’s Change your Life page which shows how powerful being positive is.
When you smile the muscles at the corner of your mouth which are controlled by a part of your brain near the serotonin release gland release more feel good hormones directly into your bloodstream. As a result life looks brighter straight away.
This one of the reasons that Hypnosis and hypnotherapy is so effective. Because through it you visualise positive states seeing the world in a more positive way.
